San Francisco-based Made Renovation, a new startup that wants to help homeowners with the design and remodeling of their houses has announced securing seed round investment worth $9 million. Base10 Partners is leading the round along with support from Felicis Ventures, Founders Fund, and a few individual investors. The total investment has come in a couple of tranches.
Roger Dickey and Sagar Shah started the company last year with the aim of helping the homeowners in the Bay Area. It offers services like combine design, materials, and construction. Made Renovation offers design estimation, 3D renderings, materials, and construction. Roger Dickey was one of the co-founders of Gigster, a software technology company while Sagar Shah had founded Quad, an ed-tech platform that can help in co-learning.
The company mainly looks after bathroom redesign or design. With the help of technology, the founder dup create bathroom templates that customers can customize. They also help them get contractors who can do the work and the company even looks after the entire work done by the contractors.
Dickey while speaking to Crunchbase said that “Not only do we handle everything for customers from design and architecture to procuring materials and pulling permits, we also match them with a contractor and then oversee the project to make sure it goes smoothly." Base10 Partners managing director TJ Nahigan feels that “Made Renovation is creating a 10 times better solution to the status quo in the multibillion-dollar renovation industry.”
Felicis Ventures Sundeep Peechu commenting on the financing said, “At this stage, a high percentage of conviction is usually about the team. We’re huge believers in Roger. Plus, the renovation market in the US is 7 times larger than the ride-hailing market. A large portion of that is smaller renovation projects that Made is making more efficient.”
