Huami Developing A Smart Face Mask Which Will Self-Disinfect Itself

Chinese smart device maker Huami that develops Amazfit products has been working on creating a reusable mask that self-disinfects itself. It uses built-in ultraviolet (UV) lights that will disinfect filter within 10 minutes when connected to a power supply. The firm claims that the masks have the standard similar to the N95 masks.

Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a number of companies across the globe have got their competitive edge out and are trying to create products that will help the world fight against the deadly virus which has affected almost the entire world.

Notably, the parent company of Amazefit, Huami has got investment from big names like Sequoia Capital China, Gaorong Capital, Banyan Capital Partners, Shunwei Capital, Morningside Venture Capital, and Xiaomi. It was founded in 2014 by Huang Wang.

The company has named the mask Aeri which is a transparent mask that will not trouble the people who want to use facial recognition on their phones. Notably, the firm is also working with the Chinese government. Dr. Zhong Nanshan, one of the main doctors who is at the center of this fight against COVID-19 has partnered with the company for a few aspects of this fight.

Notably, Amazfit products have been the answer from the Chinese market to Fitbit across the globe. Aeri sounds to be an interesting product which the firm is developing and it will be interesting to see how long the firm will take to launch the product and how the world will perceive it once it is launched.
