On-demand delivery Service Company Postmates is taking giant leaps. The company has announced the expansion of their services to further 134 cities of the US where it will be offering the on-demand delivery services. With the new addition of cities, Postmates now covers more than 60% of the country. Now, Postmates has their presence in 550 cities including places like Lubbock, Texas; Athens, Georgia; Columbia, South Carolina and Albany, New York.
A few months back, the company had made an announcement of a partnership with Walmart for the grocery delivery segment. The move was aimed at taking the dominance of e-commerce giant Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods. Started by Bastian Lehmann, Sam Street, and Sean Plaice in 2011, the company had raised $300 million fresh funds last month to make the total amount raised by the company to $578 million at a valuation of $1.2 billion.
The company made the announcement through a blog post where it said that they continue to grow at an unprecedented rate. Now available in 550 cities total and counting, we are continuing to grow at an unprecedented rate. “In the last few months alone, we have launched 264+ cities, raised $300M, and grown our Unlimited product by 300% — allowing members to enjoy zero delivery fees in exchange for a flat monthly or annual fee. So if you’re in one of our recently added cities, such as Providence RI, Colombia SC, Little Rock AR, or Athens GA, remember that you now have an instant on-demand happiness maker in your pocket,” the blog read.
So, if you’re among the cities where Postmates does delivery, here’s a discount for you which the company is offering. “To celebrate the launch, we’re giving these new customers $4 off any Chipotle order when they use the code CHIPOTLE134 through Monday, 10/22,” the blog post read.
